Calculate hepatic drug extraction ratio and related pharmacokinetic parameters
E = (Cᵢ − Cₒ) / Cᵢ
where Cᵢ = concentration entering the organ and Cₒ = concentration leaving the organ
Concentration entering the liver/organ
Concentration leaving the liver/organ

Hepatic Clearance
How It Works
The extraction ratio describes the fraction of drug removed from the blood as it passes through an eliminating organ, such as the liver.
Extraction Ratio (E) = (Cᵢ − Cₒ) / Cᵢ
If hepatic blood flow is provided, hepatic clearance can be estimated using CLₕ = Q × E.
An extraction ratio close to 0 indicates little extraction, whereas a value close to 1 indicates extensive extraction.
