Renal Clearance Calculator

Renal Clearance Calculator

Calculate renal clearance from urine and plasma drug concentrations

Clᵣ = (U × V) / P U = urine concentration   |   V = urine flow rate   |   P = plasma concentration
Concentration of drug in urine
Concentration of drug in plasma
Volume of urine produced per unit of time

How Renal Clearance Is Calculated

Renal clearance represents the volume of plasma from which a substance is completely removed by the kidneys per unit of time.

The standard equation is: Clᵣ = (U × V) / P

The calculator converts the entered urine and plasma concentrations into compatible units and converts urine flow into mL/min before performing the calculation.

Educational use: This calculator is intended for pharmacology and pharmacokinetics education. Clinical interpretation should consider the specific drug, sampling conditions, renal function, and the method used to measure concentrations.
